In early March, a four-member camera crew from the Japanese television network BS Fuji visited Zagreb and filmed numerous landmarks in Croatia's capital city. The material will be broadcast as part of a clip about Croatia in the network's tourism program which is seen by three to six million viewers. The clip about Croatia will be broadcast a total of ten times. During their three-day stay, the Japanese television crew familiarized themselves with all the landmarks in the Upper and Lower Towns, whose cultural heritage and architecture draw in more and more Japanese tourists. Apart from the most significant cultural institutions, theaters, the cathedral and a souvenir shop on Bakačeva Street, they filmed a large part of the material in the Museum of the City of Zagreb and the Museum of Naive Art. They also tasted indigenous Zagreb cuisine in traditional restaurants such as Pod gričkim topom, Okrugljak and Lady Šram.

The Japanese interest in visiting Zagreb has been rapidly growing. In February this year, twice as many Japanese tourists visited Zagreb than last year. This boost was certainly influenced by last year's introduction of direct charter flights between Japan and Croatia. The Croatian Tourist Board recently opened a branch office in Tokyo and they organized the educational trip for the employees of the Japanese television network.

Besides Zagreb, the crew visited Rijeka, Opatija, Lovran, and the smallest town on Earth – Hum, which has a population of just over ten, as well as Motovun, Rovinj, Pula, Northern Velebit National Park, Ston, Dubrovnik and Cavtat in the southern part of the country.
