Martin is in Zagreb
On the eve of St. Martin’s Day, a multi-day festival of wine will take place in the city center. Visitors will be attracted by the selected wines and other indigenous products from the Zagreb region.
More than fifty wine-makers, and producers of organically grown produce from the region of Zagreb, will present their products at this year’s wine festival, “Martin is in Zagreb”, which will take place in the city center between the 2nd and the 11th of November.
The festival of wine has become a must-visit autumn event, and it is being held for the 9th time this year.
The epicenter of happenings will be on Flower Square (Cvjetni Trg), and the adjacent Margaretska Street, where numerous stands, offering fine wines and wine-related products, will be set up. Apart from wine-makers, local cheese-makers, bakers, and other producers of various traditional products, will also be represented at the festival.
The idea behind organizing such a festival was born from the wine-makers desire to present their products and the customs of turning grape must into wine, and particularly to do this in one place and just before the largest wine holiday, Martinje.
Apart from outdoor tastings, visitors will also enjoy a rich entertainment program in which numerous cultural and artistic associations from the Zagreb region will present their traditional customs tied to the ritual of baptizing grape musts and the celebration of Martinje.
Throughout the duration of the festival, all wines will be sold at promotional prices.
