More than professionalism!
Zagreb’s tourist and information centres are getting much praise from guests for the helpfulness and friendliness of their staff who know the answers to each and every question about Zagreb, its offer and many other aspects of everyday life.
The rapidly growing number of foreign visitors in Zagreb – there were 23 percent more foreign guests staying in Zagreb this March than in the same period last year – present an increasing number of challenges for tourism professionals. One visitor of Zagreb shared his experience on TripAdvisor, recommending a visit to the Tourist Information Centre in Ban Josip Jelačić Square. He wrote: one of the best in the world!
The satisfied visitor mentions in his comment that, apart from the usual information provided to tourists, one will receive other practical advice: where to buy pyjamas at a bargain price to replace those left at home, where to find a cheap internet café, which tram to take in order to get to the Dražen Petrović Basketball Hall from your hotel…
Apart from the Tourist Information Centre at Zagreb’s main square, there is also one at the main bus terminal, the central train station, at the airport and next to Lotršćak Tower in the Upper Town. Zagreb was also one of the first cities in Europe to introduce walking informers seven years ago. Between April and October, they stroll around the city, helping guests find their way around Zagreb and locating landmarks. Guests can also find information at info-desks, by phone via a free-of-charge info-line, as well as on the web pages translated into 15 languages.
