New Film Program at the Tuškanac Cinema

Although the new film program has been going on since mid-September, it is worth it to remind audiences that European and Croatian art film productions will continue to be shown at the Tuškanac cinema until 21 December.

In the past, many famous and less famous film creations by Croatian and foreign authors have been shown at the popular Zagreb cinema, Tuškanac. This year’s repertoire continues in the same spirit.

Until the end of the year, i.e. up to 21 December, the program will feature many interesting movies, starting with a selection from a contemporary Japanese film production company, as well as several of Bresson’s works, a homage to the leading figure of world cinematography, Ingmar Bergman, political movies by Costa Gavras, and a cult production by the Croatian Authors’ Film Studio.

The highlights of this year’s program will be the reviews of Italian movies and Spanish comedies and a series of German movies revolving around the Nazi-era theme.

In the upcoming period between 12 October and 22 November a greater part of the film offer will pay homage to the Swedish director, Ingmar Bergman. An extensive opus of his 16 movies that were created between 1952 and 1982 will be shown as part of the film program, among them ‘Smiles of a Summer Night’,  ‘The Seventh Seal’, ‘Wild Strawberries’, ‘Cries and Whispers’, ‘Scenes from a Marriage’ and ‘Fanny and Alexander’.

The 39th review of Croatian film and video production will be shown on 23 and 24 November, followed by the showing of a series of German films.

All the movies are subtitled, and the entrance ticket is being sold at the symbolic price of ten Kuna.
