Outstanding Success of Croatia's Team

At this year's HairWorld Championships of Beauty held in Chicago, Croatia's hairdressers and beauticians showed their high level of creativity by winning one gold medal and coming in fourth place twice.

At the HairWorld Championships of Beauty in Chicago, the Croatian team finished with their best results yet, one gold medal and two fourth place finishes. With very tough competition from more than 2,000 participants from 60 countries, the Croatian team was made up of 18 hairdressers and beauticians in both the senior and junior categories. The highest decorated medal was won by Zagreb's hairdresser, Marija Tašić, a member of the women's team in the category of “Seniors Ladies Fantasy Hairstyle”. A member of the men's team, Mario Treščec from Zagreb, took fourth place in the same category. In the category of “Stage Make-up”, a remarkable fourth place was won by Ivan Peradenić from Opatija, contributing to the outstanding success that the Croatian team achieved in this world championship.

The Croatian hairdressers have always achieved notable results in global competitions, especially in the area of high creativity. Even at the last HairWorld Championships of Beauty held in Moscow in 2006, the Croatian hairdressing team achieved an excellent 11th place in the Seniors Ladies Technical category for teams, while in the individual category for avant-garde, the young hairdresser from Zagreb, Mario Treščec, came in an amazing 5th place.

The participation of the Croatian team at the HairWorld Championships of Beauty in Chicago was sponsored by the Guild of Hairdressers and Beauticians of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, and the Association of Croatian Hairdressers.
