On October 5th Zagreb will be visited by yet another great music star – Peter Gabriel, who is coming to Croatia as part of his announced European tour “Back to Front”. The tour will mark the 25th anniversary of the album “So”, which he recently rerecorded and once again gained excellent reviews for it.
The album was originally recorded in 1986, and it greatly changed the idea of music in pop culture. One of the main “culprits” was the hit “Sledgehammer”, which is still one of the most played videos on MTV. However, the album also features other hits, such as “Don’t Give Up”, recorded as a duet with Kate Bush, “In Your Eyes”, also featured in Cameron Crowes famous film Say Anything, and many others. The album “So” was the fifth album recorded by Peter Gabriel, but he had gained fame even before with songs such as “Shock The Monkey”, “Games Without Frontiers”, “Solsbury Hill”, etc.
Since “So” became one of his most successful albums, he decided to rerecord it with his old band so as to provide fans with insight into the background of each song – from how they were written to how they have evolved to this day.
The Zagreb concert, part of the “Back to Front” tour, which has already enthralled audiences in Northern America, will take place on October 5th at Arena Zagreb, and it will be performed by everyone who participated on the original album recording. Apart from Peter Gabriel, the performers will include bassist Tony Levin, guitarist David Rhodes, keyboardist David Sancious and drummer Manu Katche.
Ticket prices range between 250 and 750 kuna, and they can be purchased via Eventim.
