The biggest architecture event in Croatia
The 44th Zagreb Salon, the most important architecture event in Croatia, will be held at the Zagreb Fair between October 1st and October 25th and it will feature more than 500 works by domestic as well as foreign authors.
An impressive number of contemporary architectural designs, and the organization of the second international conference on architecture, ČIPTalks, will mark this year’s Zagreb Salon. It is the most important, triennial, architecture event in Croatia, where architects have the chance to show the achievements of contemporary production at the national level. The Zagreb Salon will be held for the 44th time, between October 1st and October 25th at the Zagreb Fair.
Over 500 entries by Croatian as well as foreign authors, whose works have been designed or realized in Croatia between 2006 and 2009, will be shown at the exhibition. Out of those, 100 will be selected to compete for prizes at the 44th Zagreb Salon. The commissioner of this year’s salon is Hans Iberlings, a world-renowned historian from Rotterdam, the editor-in-chief of the bimonthly magazine A10 New European Architecture, and an expert on Croatian architecture.
The second international conference on architecture, ČIPTalks, will be organized concurrently with the Zagreb Salon. The impressive lineup of participants, experts from Croatia and abroad, will try to provide answers to questions dealing with the burning issues of contemporary architecture and urbanism; overpopulation of cities, a return to eco-building, etc. The event will take place between October 1st and October 3rd at the Zagreb Youth Theater.
