The famous Ennio Morricone at Arena Zagreb
On April 11th 2015, Arena Zagreb will be the venue for a performance by the legendary conductor and composer of film scores, Ennio Morricone. He will lead more than two hundred musicians as part of his tour “My Life in Music (50 Years of Music World Tour)”. This will be an overview of his best works.
Featuring an overview of his greatest works, the legendary film score composer and conductor, Ennio Morricone, will put on a performance at Arena Zagreb on April 11th. The great maestro is visiting Zagreb as part of his tour “My Life in Music (50 Years of Music World Tour)”, in which he will conduct more than two hundred musicians on stage.
Ennio Morricone is one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. He was born in Rome in 1928, and during his prolific career he has composed music for more than five hundred films and television series. He gained global fame whilst working with Italian spaghetti western directors Sergio Leone, Duccio Tessari and Sergio Corbucci. Some of the most famous films of that genre, which he composed scores for, are “A Fistful of Dollars”, “For a Few Dollars More”, and “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”. Apart from western movie scores, he has also composed music for films of other genres, ranging from comedy, drama and thrillers, to horror and romantic films. Therefore, he has worked with some of the best renowned directors in the world, including Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Pedro Almodovar, Brian DePalma, Oliver Stone and many others.
Among many awards, he received a lifetime achievement Academy Award in 2007, a Grammy, five BAFTA’s and three Golden Globes. A live performance by such a legend, whose opus has made a significant mark on the history of film music, is a real cultural treat for Zagreb.
