The greatest figure skaters come to town again
Between December 4th and 6th, the Dom Sportova Sports Hall will be the venue for the 47th Golden Pirouette, once again featuring the greatest figure-skaters in the world. This year’s contest counts for participation at the European and World Championships in figure-skating.
If you are a fan of figure-skating, make sure to attend the oldest such contest in Europe, the 47th Golden Pirouette, taking place between December 4th and 6th at the Dom Sportova Sports Hall. This year, 96 contestants from 23 countries and three continents – Europe, North America and Asia, will compete for the title.
This year’s contest will once again feature the greatest figure-skaters in the world, including Michael Brezina, the Czech champion and one of the best male figure-skaters in the world, as well as Russian skater Konstantin Menshov.
The female competition will also be fierce, featuring Elizaveta Tuktamysheva of Russia, currently ranked number one in the ISU Grand Prix, as well as attractive Finnish skater, Kiira Korpi, who was proclaimed the most attractive figure-skater of the decade. Back at home she is known as the “ice princess” due to her physical resemblance to the former princess of Monaco – Grace Kelly.
Since this year’s Golden Pirouette is being scored for participation at the figure-skating European Championship, taking place in Sweden in January 2015, and the World Cup in China, taking place in March of next year, the title battle will be fiercer than ever, making the contest even more exciting.
