The largest horticultural event in the region
The love of Zagreb’s citizens towards flowers will, once again, culminate this spring with the latest edition of the ever-popular FloraArt. This large international garden exhibition will be held between the 26th and 31st of May at Zagreb’s Bundek Lake, reaffirming its status as the largest horticultural event in this part of Europe.
Between the 26th and the 31st of May, Zagreb’s Bundek Lake will be the venue for the annual International Garden and Flower Show: “FloraArt”, which is being organized in Zagreb for the 45th time, this year. It is the largest horticultural event in this part of Europe, which brings together numerous Croatian as well as foreign exhibitors and regularly attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors.
The long tradition of this garden show reveals a part of the city’s rich horticultural heritage, which is especially noticeable to all visitors of Zagreb as they walk along the city streets in the springtime. The greatest evidence that Zagreb has always been a “green city” can be witnessed whilst strolling to Zagreb’s Zrinjevac Park through “Lenuci’s Horseshoe.” This U-shaped green area connects seven city squares and frames the urban blocks, greatly enhancing the downtown landscape.
As in previous years, this year’s horticultural exhibition will cover an area of over 30 hectares of open space, as well as two thousand square meters of indoor space in which more than 150 exhibitors from Croatia as well as abroad will present their products.
Throughout the six days of the show, visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy decorative plants and cut flowers, view various gardening equipment and tools, nutrients and pesticides, seeds, artificial flowers, decorative ceramics as well as an assortment of other related exhibits. Apart from the exhibition aspect, there will also be an array of contests and specialist lectures, all of which will be complimented by a diverse entertainment program featuring music performers and small theatre plays, whilst the youngest visitors, as always, can enjoy modern playgrounds.
