The oldest international figure-skating championship

The Golden Pirouette of Zagreb 2011 is the oldest and best-known international figure-skating competition that takes place in Croatia. This year, between the 8th and the 11th of December, the top names from the world of figure-skating will once again participate in this competition.

If you are among those who like to pass the cold days enjoying winter sports – either live or from the warmth of your homes – make sure to visit Zagreb between the 8th and the 12th of December, when the city will host the traditional international figure-skating competition: the famous Golden Pirouette of Zagreb. Fans already know what it is all about; a competition in which the top names from the world of figure-skating are once again expected to participate. This year’s Golden Pirouette will be the event’s 44th edition, which proves that it is the oldest figure-skating competition in Croatia.

For decades, this competition has been attracting the best figure-skaters in the world, and we believe that it will continue to do so in the future. Despite the fact that it represents just one of the competitions in an array of world championships, the Golden Pirouette means so much more to many people. This event has been attracting great attention from both contestants and the audiences alike since 1967. It features competitions in combination with the championship show and a final gala performance by the winning participants.

As usual, program will be held at the Ice Hall of the Dom Sportova sports complex and it will be divided into short programs for males, females, and couples. As in previous years, the final day of the competition will feature the most attractive part of the championship: the gala show on ice.
