The Zagreb Time-Machine begins

As of mid-April, Zagreb’s streets and squares will once again be the venue for various promenade events that will be taking place as part of this year’s “Zagreb Time-Machine” tourism project.

Starting April 16th, the Zagreb Time-Machine project will once again bring various promenade events back to the city streets. This tourism project consists of numerous entertainment programmes taking place across the city, including dance and song. Every Saturday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., the Music Gazebo from 1891 in Zrinjevac Park will feature the sounds of waltzes and marches, operetta librettos, Italian canzones, jazz and evergreens…
Every Saturday, in the very heart of the city, on the main square of ban Josip Jelačić, members of local folklore groups will display their customs and offer traditional treats and locally cultivated apples as symbols of good health. In the morning hours, on the streets of the Upper Town, one will have an opportunity to enjoy the sounds of old love songs performed by street musicians. That, combined with numerous costumed characters milling around town in the evening, will certainly transform the city back to its historical days.
You might also run into the Zagreb chronicler, accompanied by the town’s ladies, the newspaper seller, the postman, and lantern-lighter, who will illuminate the city, thus ensuring a pleasant evening stroll… There will also be numerous other characters from novels by renowned Croatian writers, who might tell you interesting facts about the city. However, no matter which of these you encounter, we guarantee that you will have a pleasant stay and experience Zagreb in the best way possible. It is up to you to just come and enjoy.
