The greatest little secrets of Zagreb are now literally at the tourists' fingertips, on the screens of their mobile phones. We are talking about the mobile phone application Spotted by Locals. Zagreb has joined 40 European cities to present its offer of entertainment, wining and dining, and places to go and see when in Zagreb.

The application is currently only available for iPhones. It will soon be available for other smart phones which use the integrated Android operative system. Spotted by Locals is the first global application featuring these types of city guides which contain tested information that is updated on a daily basis. The contents are uploaded by selected bloggers, a few of them from each of the featured cities. This means that the information reflects the first hand knowledge of real, local people. The application costs 3.99 euro; and once installed it works off-line, i.e. no internet connection is necessary.

Application users can search a detailed map of the city on their screens, find interesting sites close to their location, all depending on their wishes and needs. Every location is described in detail with interesting tips and opinions of the authors who are already familiar with the places. Even before arriving in Zagreb, tourists can find out about the locals' favourite places, the best places to eat, the gathering places of different groups, the most popular places to party, what to see and experience, and all of that is aimed at different interests.

Since the information is updated and expanded on a daily basis, more and more of Zagreb's best kept secrets are becoming available to tourists. Searches are available based on ten different categories: Art and Culture, Bars, Cinemas, Coffee and Tea, Festivals and Events, Music, Relaxation, Restaurants, Shopping and Snacks.

Based on these categories, there are approximately 150 popular places currently featured in Zagreb.
