He has been recording album after album, all equally praised by fans and critics alike, and each of his newest hits demonstrates an increasing virtuosity with a note of recognizable personality.
In the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, he cooperated with numerous legends from the world of music, such as Mick Jagger, Alice Cooper, band-members of Deep Purple and many others, while in 1993 he formed the all-star band G3, along with Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Yngwie Malmsteen, Robert Fripp (King Crimson), Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Paul Gilbert (Mr. Big), Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Steve Lukather (Toto), Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions), Michael Schenker (Scorpions, UFO), Tony MacAlpine, Brian May (Queen), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Patrick Rondat and Eric Sardinas...

With the arrival of the new millennium, Satriani recorded a brand new electronic/techno album, “Engines of Creation”, on which many songs are programmed on a synthesizer. He has since recorded another five studio albums and four live albums, and now he is preparing yet another one.
