ZagrebDox – International Festival of Documentary Film
This year once again ZagrebDox offers the best of the latest documentary films and makes us think through its selection of topics that make it unique in Croatia and in Europe.
ZagrebDox, the international festival of documentary film, will be held this year from 25 February to 4 March. The festival was founded in 2005 with the aim of offering the public and experts an overview of recent documentary film, of stimulating production in Croatia and of strengthening international and regional partnerships in the field of co-production. Carefully selected creative documentary films and a selection of topics make this festival unique in Croatia and in Europe.
The festival’s competition programme comprises an international and a regional competition. In the international competition documentary films by the world’s best directors over the past year is shown, with a focus on new, brave, forward-thinking and fearless documentary productions. The regional competition includes films from Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia. ZagrebDox places a particular emphasis on the regional programme making it especially attractive for anyone who wishes to learn about recent documentary film-making in the region.
Apart from the competition programmes ZagrebDox has several other programme: retrospectives, and films focused on selected themes, genres, techniques and aesthetics.
