May is a really special month for Zagreb. Nice weather allows for more events in the city, which are transferred to outdoors more often in this and the following months. The very end of the month, 31 May, marks the Day of Zagreb and the feast of its patron saint Our Lady of the Stone Gate.

This is a special date for all citizens, which is traditionally celebrated with a procession, but also a string of other events. Before the day, and also on that date, the Zagreb Tourist Board together with partners organises interesting programmes which will bring a lot of unexpected encounters, pleasure and good mood to visitors.

At the very start of June, Zagreb will host the International Animated Film Festival – Animafest, which will bring numerous artists from around the world to the city.

Always with a good reason and based on tradition, a number of programmes are to follow, illustrating the rich history of Zagreb, intertwined with contemporary events and dynamic lifestyle of a modern capital. Programmes that will attract visitors eager for contemporary music rhythms, sports and other challenges also lay ahead.
