A tradition of concert events in the Upper Town

Top class musicians from Croatia as well as abroad will mark this year’s cultural event – Evenings in Grič, from July 2nd till August 1st. This event has been traditionally held in attractive locations in the Upper Town as well as at the Culture Factory (Tvornica Kulture).

Once again, this year, the atrium of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery and the Church of St. Catherine in the Upper Town, as well as the recognizable urban environment of the Culture Factory will be venues for the traditional Evenings in Grič. This year the event is being organized for the 32nd consecutive time, and like in the previous years, audiences can look forward to listening to exquisite musicians, who will delight them with their renditions of classical music, jazz, light entertainment music and world music. The first concert will take place on July 2nd at the Culture Factory, when the first lady of Croatian schlager music, Gabi Novak, will perform together with the Matija Dedić Trio, featuring Matija Dedić on the piano, Mladen Baraković on the contrabass, and Kruno Levačić on the drums.

The opening ceremony of the 32nd Evenings in Grič is scheduled for July 5th in the atrium of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery, and it will feature performances by the Zagreb Soloists and Martina Filjak on the piano and Vedran Kocelj on the trumpet. Like in its previous editions, this year’s Evenings in Grič will feature thirteen excellent concerts by top class Croatian as well as foreign musicians, including a concert by Bragi, the Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Student Association of the Groningen University in the Netherlands, as well as a performance by the Finnish Harmonica Quartet - Sväng.

Concerts will begin at 9 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at the Tourist Information Centre in Ban Josip Jelačić Square, online at www.ulaznice.hr or at the concert venue one hour before the beginning of the show.
