An offer adapted to the blind and visually impaired

Zagreb’s Four Points by Sheraton Panorama is the first hotel in Croatia that has adapted its offer for the benefit of blind or deaf/blind persons; among other things, there are new menus and wine cards with Braille lettering.

The Four Points by Sheraton Panorama hotel is the first hotel in Croatia that has adapted its offer for the benefit of its blind, visually impaired or deaf/blind guests. Now guests with such disabilities can independently order any of the dishes or wines from the menus and wine cards with the assistance of Braille lettering.

By catering to the needs and requirements of blind, visually impaired and deaf/blind persons, the Four Points by Sheraton Panorama hotel joined the project “Making the Invisible Visible”, which was launched by the Croatian association of deaf/blind persons, “Touch”. With financial backing by the Ministry of Health and Social Care, the project is just part of the measures implemented under the national strategy of equal possibilities and opportunities for persons with disabilities, which will be put into effect between 2007 and 2015. The hotel staff has already been professionally trained to cater to the needs and requirements of blind, visually impaired and deaf/blind persons by learning certain signs in order to properly and effectively communicate with persons who have such disabilities. Apart from the Four Points by Sheraton Panorama hotel, this noble project will be joined by several other restaurants and bars across Zagreb, including cafes such as Charlie and Tresor, as well as the Kaptolska Klet restaurant.
