Klovićevi Dvori Gallery - Christmas of old Zagreb

If a travel down memory lane is your thing, do not miss the exhibition Christmas of old Zagreb which will take place between December 12th and 24th at the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery in the Upper Town.

Zagreb has always been a city of lovers of art and antiques.Therefore, visit the event Old World Christmas in Zagreb at the  Klovićevi Dvori gallery in the Upper Town which is schedulled  to take place between December 12^th and 24^th as a new programme prepared for this year’s Advent in Zagreb.  

Besides an exhibition of antiques, which will conjure up the former glory of bourgeois society, the event will reveal a lot of interesting things about the dining habits of old Zagreb through stories about old things and recipes which the bishop’s confectioner once used to prepare traditional festive cookies and cakes. You will have the opportunity to see how  Christmas ornaments were made and even blow your own bubble. The Ethnographic Museum’s contribution will be  a traditional Nativity scene as well as an exhibition of old postcards and traditional toys; just like today, children of the past would not have enjoyed Christmas without them.

All the events will kick off at noon on December 12^th when a Christmas tree in the atrium of the Klovićevi Dvori will be decorated  against the musical backdrop of Christmas songs. The event will include various lectures and film projections, concerts and other happenings which will take you down memory lane.
