Museum of Arts and Crafts – Exhibition of Photographs of David Bowie
In the Museum of Arts and Crafts from 2 February to 5 March visitors can enjoy an exhibition of photographs of the musical genius and artistic chameleon David Bowie, taken by Brian Rašić, as part of the Rovinj Photodays Festival.
This exhibition is a multimedia story about David Bowie through the lens of a master photographer, a lover of rock ‘n’ roll, a man who together with his camera spent time with Bowie for more than two decades, from 1983 to 2005. On the one hand an artisan photographer, on the other a sorely missed artist who released 25 solo albums, 9 live albums, 46 compilations, 13 video albums and 51 music videos…
Brian Rašić has been living and working in London and around the world for more than three decades. He is also known as the personal photographer of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll group in the world, The Rolling Stones, whose concerts he has been photographing since the early ‘80s. David Bowie personally engaged him for his final performances, and David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd) for the promotions and concerts of his album “On the Island.” In his archives he keeps photographs of many stars of the music scene, from Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry to Frank Sinatra; from Dolly Parton and Kate Bush to Beyonce, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus.
