The 5th One Take Film Festival

This year’s One Take Film Festival will be held between the 18th and the 20th of November; it will be the Festival’s Fifth Edition. Apart from the main programme, film aficionados can expect an array of concurrent happenings that will complement this unique film event.

Between the 18th and the 20th of November, cinemas Europa and Tuškanac, as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art, will be the venues for the Fifth Edition of the One Take Film Festival. Although it is relatively new, the event has already gained international success. This year, it will be entirely dedicated to the renowned filmmaker and director, as well as founder of the One Take Film Festival: the recently-deceased Vedran Šamanović.

More than a hundred films from some thirty countries have been submitted for this year’s competitive program. Apart from the main festival programme, film aficionados can expect an array of concurrent happenings that will complement this unique film event. For instance, as part of the Revival Take programme, there will be a screening of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis; one of the greatest films in the history of German cinema, which significantly influenced the science fiction genre.

The original cut of the film was screened for the first and last time during the 1927 premiere. The Zagreb audience will have the unique opportunity to see its restored version, including 25 minutes of added material, which was discovered two years ago in Buenos Aires. In mid-February last, Metropolis had its world premiere at Berlin Film Festival, 83 years after the original premiere.
