The global gypsy jazz sensation
Make sure not to miss the performance by one of the best bands in the history of gypsy jazz, the Rosenbeg Trio, which will perform at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall on April 20th.
On April 20th, the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall will be the venue for a performance by the Rosenberg Trio, one of the leading bands in the history of gypsy jazz. The brilliant Dutch trio is led by Stochelo Rosenberg, the guitar virtuoso and winner of the prestigious Golden Guitar award which was presented to him by Guitarist Magazine in 2012. He founded the band with his cousins Nous'che and Nonnie, and together they have become a global jazz sensation. Apart from being a top class musician, Stochelo Rosenberg is also a successful composer, whose work is performed by many other musicians.
The Rosenberg Trio nurtures the French tradition of gypsy jazz (jazz monouche) from the first half of the 20th century, relying heavily upon the legacy of Django Reinhardt and the golden age of Parisian hot club jazz style, which was made famous by the brothers Baro, Sarane and Matelo Ferret. Their performances captivate audiences worldwide, and they have released more than sixty CDs and DVDs to date.
The Croatian jazz guitarist, Mate Kašić, will perform as a guest at the concert.
Tickets for the Rosenberg Trio can be purchased at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall box office or online at www.ulaznice.hr for a price ranging between 120 and 190 kuna.
