The National at Šalata in July

American indie rock band, The National, will once again visit Zagreb, one of the seven cities in which they will perform as part of their latest European tour. The concert in Zagreb will take place at Šalata on July 2nd.

The famous American indie rock band, The National, will once again visit Zagreb and hold a concert at Šalata on July 2nd. The Zagreb audience will have an opportunity to see them perform live as part of their latest European tour, which includes seven cities including the Croatian capital. The National have performed in Zagreb numerous times since 2004, when they held a legendary concert before not more than 80 or so of their faithful fans at KSET. The concert that they held three years later at the Pauk club had a much larger audience, while their last performance in Zagreb took place at Boćarski Dom in 2010. 

The band was founded in 1999, and over the next ten years it evolved from performing in small, half-empty clubs to selling out gigs at large stadiums around the world. The band consists of lead singer Matt Berningerand, two pairs of brothers, Aaron (guitar, bass, piano) and Bryce Dessner (guitar), and Scott (bass, guitar) and Bryan Devendorf (drums). They recorded their first two albums - The National and Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers, as well as their key mini album - Cherry Three, with the independent label Bassland Records. They later switched to Beggars Banquet Records, with whom they recorded two acclaimed records - “Alligator” and “Boxer”. They released their latest album, “High Violet”, less than three years ago and, according to announcements, they will be releasing their newest just before the beginning of the aforementioned European tour.
