Here you will have the opportunity to have a go at numerous adrenaline sports and discover various possibilities for an active holiday, free of charge.
All you ever wanted to know but have not had the chance to find out about adrenaline sports and the possibilities of an active holiday in Croatia is now offered in one place; at the 1st Zagreb Adventure Festival. It will take place on 12 and 13 May at Zagreb’s Jarun Lake.
The festival has been conceived as a presentational platform for all kinds of active holidays, outdoor sports and recreation, as well as adventurous activities in Croatia. The festival is specific because visitors will have the opportunity to have a go at all of the presented activities completely free of charge, with the help of experts, and most importantly – outdoors. Since most similar events across the globe usually take place indoors, organizers from the Avanturist agency believe the Zagreb outdoor festival could easily become number one in Europe. This is because Croatia offers numerous possibilities for all types of adrenaline sports and adventure programs. We have the sea, mountains, cliffs, forests, caves, fast flowing rivers, as well as the perfect place in the capital city for the presentation of such sports.
On sunny days Jarun throbs with visitors. On weekends, approximately 300,000 to 400,000 people visit the lakes, so this festival should attract many of those who wish to experience the appeal of adventure. By participating in the programs, many will also have the opportunity to win valuable prizes.
Visitors will have the opportunity to have a go at well known and lesser known forms of adrenaline activities, such as free-climbing and hot-air ballooning or kiting. There will be a real adventure park for children and adults. There will also be numerous water activities, such as free diving, tourist diving, windsurfing and sailing, kite-boarding and stand-up paddling. Visitors will have the opportunity to ride horses, try their hand at archery, drive quads and ATVs, have a go at slack lining, bungee jumping and enjoy many other known and unknown activities.
Part of the program will be educational, for example, there will be a yoga and health course, including Indian drumming and shamanic cleansing rituals. The Croatian Outdoor Survival School will be organizing educational exercises about starting a fire and tying safety knots, while the Survival Croatia Project will demonstrate numerous survival techniques in nature, orientation and navigation, obstacle avoidance, etc.
Concurrently, a fair will take place that features producers and distributors of outdoor equipment, where visitors will have the opportunity to acquire everything they need for professional or recreational outdoor adventures at promotional prices.
Over the two days of the festival, there will also be a concurrent entertainment program with DJs, video-walls, dance troupes, urban street activities, skaters, rollerbladers, graffiti artists and concerts by many famous Croatian bands, such as Majke, Vatra, Davorin i Bogovići and Male Hookers.
The program will begin on 12 May at 10 a.m., and it will end on 13 May around 6 p.m., and there will be a short night-break in between.
