Zagreb Be There - New routes for exploring the city

With the help of the Zagreb Be There mobile application, tourists can now explore the city via the new Arty Zagreb route, featuring the favourite spots of famous artists, as well as the New Zagreb route, featuring points of interest located across the Sava River.

This summer, the Zagreb Tourist Board has expanded its popular and internationally awarded mobile application Zagreb Be There by adding two new routes to it – Arty Zagreb and New Zagreb. Both routes present Zagreb in a different way. With the help of renowned Croatian artists, they were developed by the same two agencies, Bruketa&Žinić OM and Brlog, which conceived the mobile application last year together with the Zagreb Tourist Board. The Arty Zagreb route features the artists’ favourite places in town which they wholeheartedly recommend to visitors. Director Dalibor Matanić favours the section of railroad tracks in Trešnjevka where he shot his feature-film “Fine Dead Girls”. Painter Zlatan Vehabović prefers the Student Centre, while musician Ida Prester advises fans of reading to visit the Booksa book club. Based on recommendations by other famous artists, the route features many other interesting places, such as the best known bar in town – “Krivi Put”, featuring a large open terrace on Savska Street, and the “Swanky Monkey” garden bar, while designers have recommended the best places for shopping.

The New Zagreb tour features all points of interest across the Sava River, including the must-visit Museum of Contemporary Art. This route also includes a tour of the largest building in Zagreb – Mamutica, located in the Travno neighbourhood, the Museum of Street Art in Siget, as well as the popular Hrelić flea-market, Bundek Lake, etc. After applying for each of the selected routes, tourists must virtually check-in at each location they reach with the help of a map, and once they complete the route they win awards such as various ticket discounts.

The application with the new tours, and six other possible routes, can be downloaded from the betherezagreb.com micro-page, or via the QR code on the leaflets distributed at all major tourist points in the city.
