Zagreb once again among the Top 10

After selecting Zagreb as the second best destination last year, voters of the European Best Destinations web portal have once again included Zagreb on the list of the ten best destinations in 2015.

According to voters on the European Best Destinations web portal, Zagreb is once again among the top ten. Voting for the prestigious title, a synonym for European excellence, took place between January 20th and February 10th, with Zagreb ranking 6th overall.

The competition consisted of twenty cities; ten new entries and ten entries from last year's nominees. Zagreb was among the latter group as the only city, along with Milano, that was included on the list of the ten best destinations for 2015 based on the number of received votes.

All destinations that make it on the top ten list, not only the one with the most votes, profit from this contest because the list remains published on the European Best Destinations website and its main social networks throughout the year, which helps improve their recognisability.

Last year, Zagreb was voted the second best destination in Europe, largely thanks to the great number of interesting events, which significantly increased the rates of visitor arrivals and overnight stays in 2014. The trend continued this January, with 20% more arrivals and 23% more overnight stays than January of last year. Most guests arrived from South Korea, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany.
