Have you ever heard of the World Art Games? Of course not, because this “Art Olympics” is yet to have its premiere, and since the idea was conceived in Croatia, our homeland will have the honour of hosting the premiere edition of this great art event. The games will take place between June 29th and July 10th in four Croatian cities. Participants from approximately 50 countries will compete in 17 art disciplines.
The biggest startup event in Croatia - Startup Live Zagreb, which will take place between the 15th and 17th of March, is part of a large startup series which encompasses Vienna, Berlin and Hamburg. The events will bring together numerous design, tech and other teams with the goal of creating new profitable projects while following the principles of this global business phenomenon.
Until March 17th, Zagreb’s Art Pavilion will be host to a large exhibition of works by four great Croatian painters who studied in Prague – Uzelac, Gecan, Varlaj and Trepše. These good friends made their mark on new trends in painting in Europe after World War One and were heavily influenced by the Prague school of painting.
Croatian Photography through the Eyes of Peter Knapp is the title of an exhibition taking place at the Museum of Arts and Crafts until March 3rd. The exhibition which was recently seen by thousands of visitors during the Croatian festival in Paris can rightfully be referred to as “the best of Croatian photography.
For the fourteenth year in a row, visitors to the Museum of the City of Zagreb will have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing Live Paintings. This two day event, which will take place on the 9th and 10th of February, features all of the museum’s staff dressing up as famous characters from Zagreb’s past and re-enacting scenes from its history.
Food connoisseurs, gastronomes and all of those who like to indulge in mouth watering treats will once again enjoy their days in Zagreb between the 8th and 17th of March, when yet another edition of Restaurant Week will take place, during which numerous restaurants around Zagreb will offer diverse three course meals at very affordable prices.
On March 8th, International Women’s Day, Zagreb will once again be host to the unique Chippendales show – the best known male dancing troupe in the world, who will perform their famous show “Girls Night Out” as part of their latest tour called “The Most Wanted Tour”.
