I am looking forward to Zagreb as a destination where I always feel good. It seems it has been too long since the last time I was here, although it was just a year or so.

On November 13th the globally-renowned Croatian virtuoso pianist, Maksim Mrvica, will perform at the renovated Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall. The virtuoso, who successfully combines classical and pop music, is known as one of the best crossover musicians, and his performance with the Zagreb Philharmonic is surely going to be a treat.
Between the 26th and the 28th of November the ice-rink of Zagreb’s Dom Sportova sports hall will be the venue for the 23rd Golden Bear; the international youth figure-skating competition, in which some three hundred juniors from twenty countries will perform.
On November 5th a large exhibition, “Memories of a Ban – the Jelačić Legacy”, will open at the Croatian History Museum. The exhibition opening is to be held on the 150th anniversary of the Ban’s death and it will feature more than 700 museum artefacts that can be viewed until the end of the year.
Between the 9th and the 15th of November, the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel will be the venue for the 1st Malaysian Festival. The culture of this exotic land will be presented through a rich culinary selection, as well as traditional dances and fashion shows.
Towards the end of October, Zagreb gained yet another ultra-modern restaurant, which will surely become the new “in” place among the city population. The restaurant is located in the city centre, near the Cibona Tower, and it owes its name, Black Rock, to the red-hot volcanic rocks on top of which food is prepared. This is just one of the novelties that this restaurant offers.
Although the opening of the new Museum of Contemporary Art is expected only in December, the museum has already started sending out announcements of the great exhibitions they plan to organize. In May next year, for example, the Museum will present the works of Gilbert & George, the British duo whose artistic opus occupies a prominent position in the contemporary global art.
A wellness & spa center was opened in June at Zagreb's Aristos Hotel, located near Zagreb's airport in the Buzin Business Park. The hotel's business guests and other guests, who already enjoy high accommodation standards and conference and gastronomic offers fully adapted to their needs, will now be able to enjoy relaxing treatments and other facilities which will help them face increasingly demanding business challenges.
The 44th Zagreb Salon, the most important architecture event in Croatia, will be held at the Zagreb Fair between October 1st and October 25th and it will feature more than 500 works by domestic as well as foreign authors.
