The hotels in Zagreb are preparing romantic Valentine's Day packages which come full of surprises and guarantee exciting and unforgettable memories for couples in love.

Along with the prestigious National and University Library, which also organizes cultural events, a modernly equipped library will be opened in the second half of February at the Faculty of Philosophy as the second largest library in Croatia in terms of the number of volumes.

In April the Klovićeva Dvori Gallery will continue its cultural project of presenting the regions of Croatia with the exhibit “Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem”. This project was begun last year with the exhibit “Dalmatian Zagora – Unknown Land”, which was on display for longer than planned due to the public's great interest.

The International Tourism Fair Crotour 2009 will take place at Zagreb Fair from April 1st to 5th, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and sponsored by the Croatian Tourist Board and the World Tourism Organization.

The Croatian Association of Innovators has awarded first place to Bakina Kuća for the original souvenirs with stories, “Argonauts” and “Croatian Navy”. The event where this took place was Arca, the 1st souvenir fair.

The Marton Museum in Samobor has exhibited rare pieces from its valuable collection “Magic of Porcelain” at the Sevres National Ceramics Museum in Paris.

The Art Pavilion celebrated its 110th anniversary in mid-December. As one of the oldest exhibition venues in this part of Europe, it has greatly contributed to the cultural life in Zagreb.

In the first eleven months of last year, Zagreb recorded more than a million overnights, or four percent more than in the same period for the previous year.
