As a city with a very turbulent and interesting past, Zagreb offers a variety of creative sightseeing tours based on historic events which occurred there. One of the newest such tours will familiarize guests with the witches of the Upper Town. Not only will they tell you a story about the rich history of the city, but they will also teach you how to make original souvenirs.
On June 12th, Zagreb will host Mika Häkkinen, the global ambassador of the Johnnie Walker brand and two time Formula 1 world champion. He will promote the Join the Pact campaign for responsible alcohol consumption and demonstrate the top performance of his Join the Pact – Caparo T1 supercar.
This year’s 47th International Folklore Festival, which will take place between July 17th and July 21st, will be dedicated to Croatia’s accession into the EU and it will showcase European heritage through the appearances of folklore and dance ensembles from many countries.
To mark Croatia’s entry to the EU, the Marija Hunjak Stamp Club from Čakovec, and the Europe House in Zagreb, are organizing the exhibition “Everything that Connects Us”, which will take place between June 15th and July 15th, and feature postage stamps from all EU member states.

When in Zagreb on weekends, make sure not to miss the attractive Changing of the Guard of Honour of the Cravat Regiment, which begins exactly at noon at St. Mark’s Square. Apart from enjoying an interesting ceremony in the beautiful setting of the Upper Town, this is another opportunity to get to know Zagreb’s history and learn something about Croatia’s important contribution to the fashion world.
