A new record - The first millionth guest

After being chosen as the best Christmas destination in Europe, in December of last year, Zagreb welcomed its first millionth guest – tourist Clare Morrison from Great Britain, who visited Advent in Zagreb with her sister and stayed at the Sheraton Hotel, where she received a memorable surprise. As the millionth tourist, she was greeted at the hotel by the Mayor of Zagreb – Milan Bandić, the CEO of the Zagreb Tourist Board – Martina Binnenfeld, the Minister of Tourism – Darko Lorencin, the President of the HUP Zagreb management – Anđelko Leko, and the Director of the Main Office of the Croatian Tourist Board – Ratomir Ivičić, who gave her two return airline tickets to Zagreb. She is free to use the tickets whenever she likes over the course of this year, which allows her to return and become even more familiar with Zagreb.

She had decided to visit Advent in Zagreb, having never been to Croatia or its capital before, after seeing beautiful photos of various Adventevents in the city. She particularly enjoyed the atmosphere and food, while she had the most fun singing and dancing on the city streets and squares.

In the first two weeks of Advent, Zagreb was visited by more tourists than in December of last year, which set a new record in arrivals and overnights.
