A newly-opened club and Latin centre

Towards the end of February, Zagreb got a new nightclub, and not just any nightclub but a large Buena Vista Club. Every weekend, until the early morning hours, its visitors will be able to dance the night away to the well-known Latin American rhythms on three different dance floors.

As of the end of February, Zagreb’s dance scene boasts another world-class nightclub. The large Buena Vista Club Zagreb was opened on Savska Street, on the premises of the Savska Dance, Sport and Fitness Centre.

The club has a surface area of 400 square metres, which is divided into three separate dance floors: the largest occupies 210 square metres whereas the smaller ones are 90 and 70 square metres in size. Each of the dance floors is dedicated to a different type of music; the largest features an attractive gallery where dancers can take a break from the hot rhythms of salsa, mamba, merengue and cha-cha-cha. Somewhat slower rhythms of bachata, salsa romantica, zouk, kizomba, son and rumba will be played on the second dance floor, whereas the third one is intended for the energetic dance rhythms of reggaeton, dancehall, afro, zumba, Capoeira...

The club will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 P.M. and, in order to add spice to the programme, a new surprise awaits dance lovers every weekend. For example, an opportunity to learn the steps of Argentine tango will be presented to dancers keen on learning something different and acquiring new dance experiences. Occasionally, belly dancers will participate in the programmes while workshops will be organized for those who want to learn African dances, Brazilian Capoeira and many others.

The Buena Vista Club Zagreb follows the principles of the world-renowned Buena Vista Social Club, which originally opened in Havana during the 1940s. Over time, the Havana Club became a globally popular music project that spread the fame of Latin American music all over the world throughout the 1990s. Consequently, this genre of music is nowadays considered the leading musical influence all over the world.
