Advantages for Korean tourists - Korean credit card accepted for payments in Croatia

All places featuring a Diners Club logo now accept the leading Korean credit card – the BC Global Card, and grant all users a ten percent discount on the purchase of goods and services.

Korean tourists can now use the BC Global Card in Croatia. The first purchase using the leading Korean credit card was ceremonially conducted at Zagreb’s Museum of Broken Relationships. Thanks to cooperation between the Erste Card Club, the BC Global Card and the American Discover Network, numerous tourists from South Korea, who are the most frequent foreign guests in Zagreb, can now use their cards to pay at all Erste Card Club locations.

With more than 7.5 million users, the BC Global Card is the most popular credit card in Korea. Owing to its cooperation with the Discover network, the owner of the Diners Club Int., the BC Global Card is now accepted in Croatia at all places that feature a Diners' logo.

Users of this card will also get a ten percent discount in museums, souvenir-shops and restaurants, while at specifically marked places in Zagreb they can find leaflets in Korean with a QR code which makes using their card easier. Apart from that, users can also withdraw cash from the Erste Bank ATMs, as well as via the MBNET bank-machine network.

Zagreb happens to be one of the favourite destinations for Korean guests, whose number of arrivals has increased three times in comparison with last year. According to the Zagreb Tourist Board's statistics, in the first six months of this year, Koreans were by far the most frequent foreign tourists in the Croatian capital. They accounted for the highest numbers of both arrivals and overnights. Such popularity is the result of the wide and intense promotional activity conducted by the Zagreb Tourist Board on the Korean market. Thanks to that initiative a very popular Korean reality show, The Friends, was shot in Croatia and generated even more arrivals of guests from that country. Korean tourists have also spurred some new services in Croatia including a Korean hostel, a Korean restaurant and a store selling Korean products.
