On November 29th, Arena Zagreb will be the venue for a performance by the famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. This charismatic singer held his first concert in the Croatian capital back in 1999 at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, where he performed with the Cagliari Opera Orchestra conducted by Lorin Maazel.
Born with bad eyesight, which he unfortunately completely lost at the age of twelve, Andrea Bocelli showed great interest for classical music already as a young boy. He began to learn to play the piano at six years old, and later he also learned to play the flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar and drums. His global career began when he won first place at the 1994 San Remo Festival, and he started working on commercial music projects, outside of the classical framework. Thus far, he has released fourteen studio albums and four live recordings, the last of which was also released as a DVD. With sales of more than 80 million albums worldwide, he is among the best-selling musicians in the world. Apart from being the winner of numerous awards, Andrea Bocelli is in the Guinness Book of World Records for placing first, second and third on the American classical music chart at the same time. He also has his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The audience at the Zagreb concert will have the opportunity to enjoy his interpretations of popular opera arias, great evergreens and the most beautiful love songs from his latest studio album, “Passione”, and his latest live album “Love in Portofino”.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased via Eventim, at prices ranging between 240 and 1725 kuna.
