Dear citizens of Zagreb, dear visitors!

Even though the sun hasn't warmed us up yet and marked the beginning of summer, numerous events in our city are picking up pace, as well as many tourists arriving from Croatia and abroad.

Zagreb is becoming an increasingly popular destination, and it is not lagging behind with eventful tourism offer in the very city centre. This month is abundant in festivals to cater for all tastes. Each year a wider tourism offer allows us to have competitive recognition.

The traditional INmusic festival is back in town with its fourteenth edition. It is the biggest open-air festival in Croatia, held annually on Isle of Youth (Otok hrvatske mladeži) at Jarun Lake in Zagreb. In fourteen years, the festival has grown into an excellent music event, comparable with the best European open-air festivals.

The sky above Zagreb will again this year be covered in most imaginative fiery creations, devised by the best Croatian and foreign pyrotechnicians within the framework of the 19th International Fireworks Festival. During the three days of the festival, there will be music shows and entertainment to cater for all tastes. A fireworks show for children will be set up at 22 every day as well as a large amusement park, wide selection of food provided and paper lanterns released in the air to help charities Firefly (Krijesnica) and Big heart for little heart (Veliko srce malom srcu).

Movie fans will get a chance to enjoy the eight edition of the movie picnic Screen on the Green. You will get a chance to enjoy creative workshops, be fit and in shape due to outdoor exercising, participate in silk dancing workshops, treat yourself with a selection of dishes, sing and dance to excellent music, test your knowledge in an open-air quiz, have a good laugh at the stand-up comedy show and relax with the screenings of two blockbusters – Aquaman and Spiderman. Bring your blankets and enjoy spring days in the open, in the very heart of Zagreb. Fans of animated film will be able to visit Animafest Zagreb 2019 – the World Festival of Animated Film. It is the second oldest film festival in the world completely dedicated to the animation of short and feature film.

Strossmayer promenade, as one of the most romantic promenades in our city, will again host the event Summer at the Stross or Strossmartre. Carefully selected music program, art installations which fit the surroundings, unusual and entertaining special activities and contests, a somewhat nostalgic open-air cinema, painters with their canvases and a glass of excellent wine bring some of the atmosphere of the Parisian neighbourhood. For several years this has been an offer that both citizens and visitors of our city find difficult to resist.

Again this year, June is too short for all the events that will take place in our beautiful city.
