Dear friends and business partners!
At the beginning of spring, Zagreb is the center of numerous events; from art exhibitions, music festivals and concerts to Zagreb Auto Show and the Zagreb Time Machine project; numerous fellow citizens and visitors to the capital of the Republic of Croatia will have the opportunity to enjoy and be part of these events.
Art lovers will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition of the Sixties in Croatia - The Myth and Reality, which is the central exhibition project of the Museum of Arts and Crafts for this year and gives us the most complete insight into the key period of the newest Croatian history, from 1958 to 1971. and will be open to the public for full six months, from April to October. In the broader context, the exhibition looks at and analyzes the situation in Croatia in art, culture, architecture, photography, design, literature, theater, music, film and other areas.
Zagreb is also this year the guest of the Zagreb Auto Show which will be held at Zagreb Fair from 10 to 15 April 2018 and expects more than 400 exhibitors in 14 pavilions. The Zagreb Auto Show is the most visited and most attractive exhibition at the Zagreb Fair. It is a national treasure and an internationally renowned event, a favourite with the media and with visitors. Zagreb will be found in a selected company of renowned cities that have similar spectacles such as Geneva, Paris, Frankfurt and Detroit. Just like last year, this time more than 140,000 visitors are expected.
Zagreb’s visitors, and its citizens, will have a unique chance to travel in the Zagreb Time Machine between 21th April and the end of September. Once more, each and every weekend seven city locations will be brought to life in order to present the customs of times past in Zagreb and its surroundings. Famous citizens from Zagreb's history such as journalist and writer Marija Jurić Zagorka will walk the streets of the Upper Town; there will be promenade concerts and the dairy produce sellers on the Dolac market will offer their authentic wares. This is an events programme which has been run by the Zagreb Tourist Board for many years now with the aim of bringing life to Zagreb's squares, parks and streets through the past times and customs of the city and its surroundings.
It should be noted that at the ceremony of the International Hospitality Awards 2017, held on February 18, 2018 in Kiev, the Subspace hostel in Zagreb won first place in the category of the best European hostel. 315 hotels from 21 European countries competed for the prestigious prize, and 101 accommodation facilities participated in the final selection. Nominated hotels are rated based on expert jury's opinion and user rating.
Welcome!
