Dinosaur Jr. only in Zagreb!
Although they are not among the world’s greatest bands, Dinosaur Jr., who will perform in the Culture Factory on February 16th, will personally prove to their fans why they are regarded as one of the most significant and most influential American alternative rock bands of all time. They will also present their latest studio album, “I Bet On Sky”, and Zagreb is the only city in the region they have chosen for this occasion.
On February 16th, the audience at Zagreb’s Culture Factory will have a unique opportunity to listen to a live performance of the latest album by one of the most influential American alternative rock bands of all time – Dinosaur Jr. Zagreb is the only city in this part of Europe the band has chosen to visit in order to promote their latest studio album, “I Bet On Sky”. According to plans for the mini-tour, they will only be visiting Vienna, Milan, Prague and Zagreb in this part of Europe, so many fans from abroad are expected to attend the Zagreb concert. Therefore, tickets will be in high demand, especially considering the cost of 120 kuna in pre-sales and 140 kuna on the day of the concert. Tickets can be purchased via Eventim.
The band Dinosaur Jr. was formed in 1984 in the American town of Amherst, Massachusetts. They have thus far released ten studio albums, including the latest one – recorded only a few months ago. Their basic music genre is alternative rock with aspects of hard punk, slower rock and indie music. Their gigs and albums have greatly influenced the alternative scene over the last 25 years.
In 1997, however, they disappeared from the scene, leaving their albums Dinosaur (1985), You're Living All Over Me (1987), Bug (1988), Green Mind (1991), Where You Been (1993), Without a Sound (1994), and Hand It Over (1997) as inspiration for many generations of musicians to be. Fortunately for their numerous fans, the band got back together in 2005 with its original members, including guitarist J. Mascis, bassist Lou Barlow and drummer Murph, continuing where they had left off. Since then, they have released another three albums – Beyond (2007), Farm (2009), and the latest, the aforementioned I Bet On Sky released in 2012. Thereby, they have shown the world of music that they have remained true to their philosophy, which they have been nurturing for 25 years, and that they still have the power to influence the alternative music scene.
Fortunately, the Zagreb audience will have an opportunity to find that out live and, as always, recognize the greatness of this significant American rock band, as well as their well-known hits.
