For Book Lovers – the Festival of World Literature
Stars of the literary scene from 17 countries and around 50 events guarantee yet another exceptional festival of the written word.
The sixth Festival of World Literature, organised by the Fraktura publishing house, will be held 2-8 September in Zagreb and Split. Guests from 17 countries will be taking part in around 50 events during the Festival. As well as authors and moderators, there will, as always, be visual artists and musicians. The Festival will be opened by famous Polish author Olga Tokarczuk, winner of this year’s Man Booker International Prize.
David Grossman and Richard Flanagan will also be among this year’s guests, as will Frédéric Beigbeder, one of the brightest stars of the French literary scene; Jonas Hassen Khemiri, one of the most popular writers in Scandinavian literature, and the most important author of contemporary Portuguese fiction José Luís Peixoto. Famous Croatian philosopher Rada Iveković will also be appearing, as well as Mexican writer Antonio Ortuño and star of American and Nigerian literature Chigozie Obiom and a host of Croatian authors.
Alongside the above you will also be able to see stars of the Croatian literary scene Damir Karakaš, Rea Tulić, Andrija Škare, Alojz Majetić, Julijana Matanović and many more.
The Festival this year is also introducing vouchers which will serve as entry tickets to the events in the great hall of Kino Europa, and which also give you discounts on books in the Festival bookshop.
