New city sightseeing programmes
Guests who wish to discover all the secrets that Zagreb’s streets and squares have to offer, now have several themed options available; among them is the “Female side of Zagreb” tour, as well as the “Do you speak Croatian?” sightseeing tour. Both offer encounters with the citizens of Zagreb and an opportunity to even learn some basic Croatian.
Zagreb’s tourism program has recently been complemented by a new project, “Zagreb Inside”, which includes two new themed sightseeing tours. The project was conceived by professors Dora Fila and Iva Čaleta, who are also tour guides, and it includes two themed tours, one of which is called “The female side of Zagreb”, while the other is called “Do you speak Croatian?”
Both sightseeing tours begin in front of the Tourist Information Centre at the main city square, and pass by the Manduševac fountain, the cathedral, through the famous Dolac green market, and along Tkalčićeva Street towards the monument of the great Croatian writer, Marija Jurić Zagorka, Krvavi Most and Kamenita Vrata /Stone Gate/. Walking along this route, visitors will learn about the famous female citizens of Zagreb who have left deep traces in the city’s history. The other program, “Do you speak Croatian?” is aimed at visitors who would like to know more about the first Croatian alphabet or learn some typical Zagreb greetings as well as other basic Croatian words…
The price for either of these two programs is 90 kuna per person. “The female side of Zagreb” tour begins on Fridays at 17:00, while the “Do you speak Croatian” tour begins on Saturdays at 13:00.
