On November 29th, the Culture Factory will be the venue for a concert by the Swedish melodic death metal band Amon Amarth. It will be their fourth performance in Zagreb, where they have always performed sold out shows, and this time they are arriving as part of their “Jomsviking European Tour”.
The band was formed in 1988 as Scum, but after four years, when the band was joined by a new singer, Johan Hegg, they turned to Nordic mythology as inspiration and renamed themselves Amon Amarth, after the volcano from Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
Their debut album, “Once Sent from the Golden Hall” was released in 1998 and marked the beginning of their success. The Swedish Vikings have since recorded another nine studio albums, including their latest – “Jomsviking”, which is the reason for this tour.
Amon Amarth is renowned for its spectacular concerts, and the Swedish vikings have announced they will be even better on this tour. Another successful Swedish heavy metal band, Grand Magus, will open the Amon Amarth concert.
