The International Festival of Theatre and Performance Arts

The citizens and guests of Zagreb will soon be able to enjoy yet another edition of Perforacije: an international festival of performers, dancers and theatre artists who will present themselves to audiences at numerous locations around the city. Furthermore, the organizers of the festival, which will be taking place between the 20th and the 29th of October, have announced “The Night of Performances” as a special surprise. (more)

This year's “Perforacije Festival – a Week of Performance Arts” will be taking place between the 20th and the 29th of October at numerous locations throughout the city. This event, with international participation, will feature some of the most interesting names in the world of performance arts, theatre and dance. The organizers have invited some twenty artists and artistic groups from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Romania and Brazil. It should be noted that some of the Perforacije programmes will be simultaneously taking place in Rijeka (two performances on the 20th and 21st of October) and in Dubrovnik (where a total of four performances will take place between the 27th and the 29th of October).

In Zagreb, the festival will commence with the so-called “Showcase” of Croatian theatre and performance arts, with local artists presenting their productions to international selectors and producers, amongst other guests. The “Showcase” programme will take place on the 21st and the 22nd of October; moreover, audiences can look forward to a big surprise: the Night of Performances, which will start at 11:30 P.M. and will last until 4 A.M.

According to the organizers' announcements, during the “Showcase” programme the audience will be able to enjoy as many as nine different shows: Izlog/Shop Window; Mrzim istinu/I Hate the Truth; C8H11N02; Samice/Lonely Women; Otkrivanje spomen ploče/Memorial Plaque Ceremony (Der Hochzeitgeist – ein Lehrstück), Ratna igra (proba)/Kriegspiel (rehearsal); Salome, which will take place on both evenings; and a joint artists’ appearance in the Night of Performances. The shows will be taking place at different times at several different addresses in the city (Tratinska 52, Teatar &TD, Jedinstvo Factory, Avenue Mall, Oporovečki vinogradi 16 and the Students' Centre, which is where the aforementioned Night of Performances will take place).
