Tvornica kulture - Concert of the Legendary Folk Punks the Dropkick Murphys
The darlings of Zagreb audiences, the great Irish-American folk punks the Dropkick Murphys are playing in Zagreb’s Tvornica kulture on 7 February 2017.
This is their third appearance in Zagreb in five years, which says a great deal about how they have grown to love their fans here - and the fans them. The Dropkick Murphys were formed in Quincy, a suburb of Boston, in 1996. They successfully combine traditional Irish folk and punk, singing about industrial decline, the Boston docks, oppressed workers, family, friendship and love. Their ambition when they formed was to record an album which would lead Irish music to conquer the world. Not only did they succeed in that, they have also become the spokespeople of the working classes and ordinary people, one of the most popular bands around today who can also claim to have recorded a song with the legendary Bruce Springsteen.
The Dropkick Murphys will be supported by hardcore punks Slapshot. Tickets cost 170 kuna in advance, or 190 kuna on the day of the concert. The official sales outlets are the Dirty Old Shop at Tratinska 18, Zagreb and www.dirtyoldempire.com.
