Zagreb among Top 20 destinations in the world!

If you do not know where to go on holiday this year, visit the Croatian capital! According to a list compiled by the renowned British newspaper, The Daily Telegraph, Zagreb is among the 20 most desirable destinations in the world.

Is there a better confirmation of quality and originality than being included in the list of Top 20 tourist destinations in the world? This is exactly what happened to Zagreb! The renowned British newspaper, The Daily Telegraph, has recently published a Top 20 list, placing Zagreb (as a relatively small city) alongside London, New Zealand and, for instance, the Austrian Alps.

In January, a reporter for the British newspaper compiled a list of the Top 20 most desirable tourist destinations in the world; for many people, especially Brits, this list represents the main reference for choosing their holiday destination each year. Apart from Zagreb and the aforementioned London, New Zealand and the Austrian Alps, other places that made it to the list include Stockholm, Marrakech, Tallinn, Turku, Venice, Zimbabwe, and Peru… Even in such diverse company, Zagreb is unique in many ways.

The author describes Zagreb as mini Vienna, which is a long-standing comparison due to the close historic ties and traditions shared by the two cities. Zagreb, however, has just a little more, at least in terms of its own originality.

A diverse tourism offer will satisfy the aspirations of all generations, ranging from children, through trendy tourists, to the classic variety of guests. Over the last few years, new tourist features have been introduced in the city, which is an additional reason for Zagreb's popularity surge. Museums offer increasingly famous exhibitions, and the entertainment selection is on a par with other European capitals, regularly featuring line-ups of big names from the global music scene. Moreover, underneath the surface of the city's fashionable image, there is the charming centuries-old tradition that can still be felt on Zagreb's streets, shops, markets, and old-fashioned coffee houses… There are also various themed sightseeing tours on offer. In addition, Zagreb's attractiveness is further boosted by an increasing number of direct flights that connect it to many other European cities. Important news for the British market is that, amongst others, low-cost carrier EasyJet will begin to directly connect London and Zagreb as of February.
