ZAGREB - THE BEST DESTINATION ON THE CONTINENT!

At the recently held “Dani hrvatskog turizma (Days of Croatian Tourism)”, Zagreb has won as many as 9 awards in different categories within the campaign “Turistički cvijet – kvaliteta za Hrvatsku (Tourist Flower - Quality for Croatia)", organized by Croatian Radio Television, Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Croatian National Tourist Board.

At the recently held “Dani hrvatskog turizma (Days of Croatian Tourism)”, Zagreb has won as many as 9 awards in different categories within the campaign “Turistički cvijet – kvaliteta za Hrvatsku (Tourist Flower - Quality for Croatia)", organized by Croatian Radio Television, Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Croatian National Tourist Board.

The most valuable award - the best destination on the continent - Zagreb won in fierce competition with the Plitvice Lakes and Samobor.

But that's not the only award that Zagreb won. The project "Secrets of Grič", which was created in collaboration with the Zagreb Tourist Board, won the award for the best cultural itinerary as part of a national program which marks quality in cultural tourism "Experience Croatia - Doživi Hrvatsku“.

Zagreb's hotels also made the impact on the tourism scene and they’ve won 5 awards as follows:

1. Special recognition for perennial quality - Hotel on the continent 4 *
Hotel International, Zagreb

2. Recognition for the first place – the best hotel on the continent 5 *
The Westin Zagreb Hotel

3. Recognition for the second place – the best hotel on the continent 5 *
Sheraton Zagreb Hotel

4. Recognition for the first place – the best hotel on the continent 4 *
Best Western Premier Hotel Astoria

5. Recognition for the second place – the best hotel on the continent 4 *

And finally, we must not forget to point out what is the most valuable in the tourism industry - the people. Mr. Andjelko Leko, CEO of HUP Zagreb, received a Lifetime Achievement Award and Mr. Darko Orešić from Zagreb, was named the employee of the year in the campaign "Čovjek ključ uspjeha u turizmu (The Man – Key to Success in Tourism)", in the category of customs official.
