After the biggest media houses in the world proclaimed Zagreb to be this year’s hit holiday destination, the city got its large, independent brochure with an array of original, themed programmes and events that make Zagreb stand out from all other, similar European cities.
Every weekend at noon, St. Mark’s Square in the Upper Town will be the venue for an attractive two-hour ceremony of the changing of the Cravat Regiment guard. Back in the 17th century, the regiment’s soldiers invented the tie, a modern-day masculine adornment popular across the globe.
The leading names from the world of music will mark the 6th T-Mobile INmusic Festival 2011, which will attract numerous international guests to the Island of Croatian Youth at Zagreb’s Jarun Lake, on the 21st and 22nd of June.
Do not miss April 13th - The Best Shop Shopping Night – a traditional late night shopping evening during which over 260 stores in the city centre will offer super cheap deals and discounts.
Zagreb Tourist Board has teamed up with the Tourist Board of Koprivnica and Križevci County to organize an exhibition of large Croatian Easter eggs. The collection will be exhibited in front of the Zagreb Cathedral from 3rd April to 2nd May.
The fourth International Tourism Fair, CroTour 2011, will be held between the 23rd and the 26th of March under the high auspices of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia.
As part of her world tour, “The Sun Comes Out”, Columbian Latino-pop singer Shakira will hold a concert at the Zagreb Arena on May 10th. This will be her second visit to Croatia.
If you have ever been interested in the dark side of medieval times, stories of executioners, witches and torture devices, make sure to visit Zagreb's Archaeological Museum where an interesting, albeit somewhat creepy, exhibition “Medieval Torture Devices” will be open to the public until June 19th.

Ich habe mich ganz besonders auf Zagreb gefreut, vor allem, weil meine Mutter mit mir reiste. Meine Leute haben vorher alles genau erforscht, damit wir es schaffen, die wichtigsten Sachen in der Stadt zu sehen!

Wir sind wegen unseres ersten Auftritts in Kroatien aufgeregt und überglücklich, weil wir Zeit hatten, ihre wunderschöne Stadt zu besichtigen.

Der Konzertsaal Lisinski hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Es war ein ganz besonderes Gefühl dort aufzutreten, weil die Menschen aufmerksam zugehört und die Musik mit ihren Herzen gefühlt haben. Lisinski ist ein wunderschöner Konzertsaal und ich fühle mich geehrt, dass ich dort auftreten darf. Mein erster Auftritt im Lisinski ist mir in sehr schöner Erinnerung geblieben.

Jesse Eisenberg war im Herbst 2007 längere Zeit in Zagreb: Zagreb ist eine unglaubliche Stadt. Ich habe es genossen, die alten Stadtteile zu besichtigen und abends ging ich in die Clubs. Es hat mich auch begeistert, dass Österreich und Italien so nahe sind, so dass ich an den Wochenenden nach Venedig, Mailand, Ljubljana, Graz, Split u.v.a. Städte fuhr.
