The focus of this year’s 7th Human Rights Film Festival, which will take place between the 7th and the 13th of December at Zagreb’s Europa cinema, will be the struggle for social rights, which is the theme of most films included in the program.
The most famous character of the Zagreb School of Animated Film, professor Baltazar, is once again ready to conquer the global market. All 59 animated episodes, created between 1967 and 1971, have been digitalized, while a range of merchandising - educational toys and gift-items for children, as well as parents, is also in the pipeline.
The oldest gallery in Zagreb will celebrate its 100th birthday with an interesting exhibition of works by Croatian artists, named “Walking in Diversity”.
Between the 11th and the 13th of December, the Zagreb Arena will be the venue for a spectacular musical show on ice, “Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Journey”, featuring characters from Disney’s cartoons.
The new building of the Museum of Contemporary Art will be opened in mid-December. The museum has a representative collection of some 14,000 works in its holdings by Croatian and foreign contemporary artists, which were created in the period between the 1950’s and today.
Continuing the tradition of organizing large exhibitions, starting in early December and continuing into next year, the Museum of Arts and Crafts will host the exhibition “From Klović and Rembrandt, to Warhol and Picelj”. The exhibition will feature more than a thousand works by Croatian and foreign artists, which are part of the rich graphics collection of the National University Library.
On the eve of St. Martin’s Day, a multi-day festival of wine will take place in the city center. Visitors will be attracted by the selected wines and other indigenous products from the Zagreb region.
Between the 12th and the 14th of November, the ice rink of Dom Sportova sports hall will be the venue for the 42nd Golden Pirouette, one of the oldest international ice-skating competitions in the world, featuring the best skaters from Croatia and abroad.

Jesse Eisenberg war im Herbst 2007 längere Zeit in Zagreb: Zagreb ist eine unglaubliche Stadt. Ich habe es genossen, die alten Stadtteile zu besichtigen und abends ging ich in die Clubs. Es hat mich auch begeistert, dass Österreich und Italien so nahe sind, so dass ich an den Wochenenden nach Venedig, Mailand, Ljubljana, Graz, Split u.v.a. Städte fuhr.

Zagreb ist mir als wunderschöne Stadt in Erinnerung geblieben, und die Menschen, die ich kennengelernt habe, waren sehr nett und haben mich sehr warm empfangen. Das Publikum war ebenfalls wunderbar. Dieses Konzert ist für mich wie ein schönes Souvenir.

Der Konzertsaal Lisinski hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Es war ein ganz besonderes Gefühl dort aufzutreten, weil die Menschen aufmerksam zugehört und die Musik mit ihren Herzen gefühlt haben. Lisinski ist ein wunderschöner Konzertsaal und ich fühle mich geehrt, dass ich dort auftreten darf. Mein erster Auftritt im Lisinski ist mir in sehr schöner Erinnerung geblieben.

Zagreb ist wunderschön, aber am meisten haben mich die Menschen begeistert. Alle sind so freundlich und zugänglich. Einen besseren Gastgeber hätte ich mir nicht wünschen können.

Wir sind zum ersten Mal in Zagreb. Es gefällt uns hier sehr gut. Wir werden es zwar nicht schaffen, an die Küste zu fahren, aber wir werden uns erholen und ein wenig durch die Stadt spazierengehen...

Ich habe mich ganz besonders auf Zagreb gefreut, vor allem, weil meine Mutter mit mir reiste. Meine Leute haben vorher alles genau erforscht, damit wir es schaffen, die wichtigsten Sachen in der Stadt zu sehen!
