A continuation of a successful career

Many years of cooperation between HUP Zagreb and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide have influenced the development of the hotel business in Zagreb, and its continuation is encouragement for further accomplishments.

Inspired by more than 20 years of successful cooperation, Zagreb’s largest hotel company, HUP Zagreb, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide signed a new cooperation contract in mid-December 2013. Contracts have also been signed for the next 15 years by Zagreb’s Westin and Sheraton hotels.

The first management contract was signed in 1990 and, according to HUP president – Anđelko Leko, the partnership has had a great impact on the development of the hotel business in Zagreb as well as the entire country. The two companies share ideas of unconditional quality when it comes to hotel business development and serving guests, who are our foremost priority.

The signing of this contract was the opportunity to announce investments in the refurbishment of both hotels, as well as an investment in the development of human potentials through diverse trainings of all staff. The investment for both hotels will require a ten million Euro budget, which will be used to refurbish public areas and rooms, as well as renew the technology which directly impacts the guests’ comfort and pleasure. According to the HUP president, in 2014 HUP Zagreb will also invest in its other facilities in Zagreb as well as the Dubrovnik region, with a total budget of 60 million Euros.
