A Festival Marked by Short Feature Films
Animafest has become one of the most significant world festivals of animated film. This year, it is marked by short feature films with many authors from all over the world competing for awards.
The World Festival of Animated Films is scheduled to take place in Zagreb between 1 May and 5 June. This is one of the most important animated film events in the world, and it has become synonymous with Zagreb. The festival is competitive in nature and based on the tradition of the Zagreb School of Animated Film. The first edition of the festival was organized in 1972, when the International Animated Film Association selected Zagreb as the host of the biennale meetings of animators from all over the world. Since then, the festival has systematically followed the world animation production. In 2005, Animafest introduced the program of animated feature film. Since then, this biennale festival has turned into an annual event – each odd-numbered year is devoted to feature film and even-numbered years to short film.
This year is devoted to short films which will be competing in different categories. In addition to the main competition program there will also be a competition open to students, as well as a competition of films for children.
