A festival of sustainable living
On 7th and 8th September, Ban Josip Jelačić Square will be the venue of the 5th ZeGeVeGe, Zagreb's Festival of Sustainable Development. Besides looking forward to stands run by numerous local producers of organic vegetables, visitors can also expect a handful of interesting educational events, as well as all day entertainment.
On 7th and 8th September, the 5th consecutive ZeGeVeGe Festival of Sustainable Development will be held in Zagreb’s main square. The event is organized by the Association of Animal Friends, while the objective is to raise the general public’s awareness of the potentials for sustainable living in Croatia.
Besides a rich educational and entertainment programme, local producers of vegetarian foods, organic farmers and producers of cosmetics and cleaning products which have not been tested on animals will present their wares at more than fifty stands. The visitors will be able to see an electric car, electric bicycles, as well as a number of other interesting novelties. The restaurant, which will be open throughout the event, will serve complete vegetarian meals at favourable prices.
There is more. The visitors can look forward to food tastings, the sales of products at reasonable prices, environmentally-friendly innovations, a school of environmentally-friendly driving, workshops for children, etc., as well as an all day entertainment programme involving children’s choirs and an assortment of other performers who will appear on the central stage.
This year's ZeGeVege Festival will be organized as part of Veganmania, a well-known festival that has been organized for years in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and as of this year also in Slovenia and Croatia.
