A get-together with writers
Between, September 5th and 17th, the Zagreb Youth Theatre will be the venue for the 1st Festival of World Literature organized by the Fraktura publishing house. Numerous writers from Croatia as well as abroad are expected to attend.
Between September 5th and 17th, the Zagreb Youth Theatre will be the venue for the 1st Festival of World Literature organized by the Fraktura publishing house. The festival has been conceived as a place where writers from Croatia and abroad will present new books, talk about their work and critically discuss numerous topics at round tables. Numerous foreign writers, including Péter Nádas, Claudio Magris, Jaume Cabre, Kjell Ola Dahl, Rod Rees, Peter Terrin, Margriet de Moor, Erwin Mortier, Goce Smilevski, Ivan Lovrenović and Goran Vojnović have already announced their attendance at the festival, while some of the Croatian writers involved with the festival are Ivana Simić Bodrožić, Nada Gašić, Jurica Pavičić, Zoran Ferić, Katarina Luketić, Jagna Pogačnik, Zdravko Zima, Ivica Ðikić, Slavenka Drakulić, Boris Perić, Predrag Matvejević, Sibila Petlevski, Vlaho Bogišić, Miljenko Jergović, Franjo Janeš and Edo Popović.
The festival programme will feature two literary and one music event every day. Apart from Croatian and foreign writers, the festival will also introduce young musicians performing various genres of music, as well as numerous artists. The first edition of the festival will have an immense backing, so we have no doubt it will also attract a very diverse audience of readers.
